ABACUS digital, the developer of the online lending application MoneyThunder, has been honored with the Social Contribution Award at the 7 Innovation Awards 2025. This recognition reinforces the company’s leadership in Thailand’s fintech industry, leveraging technology to expand financial inclusion, reduce dependency on informal lending, and create financial opportunities for underserved groups nationwide. To date, ABACUS digital has enabled access to over 24 billion baht in safe, transparent, and fair credit.
Ms. Phornnapas Chalermtiarana, Chief Operating Officer of ABACUS digital, stated:"We are proud that MoneyThunder has received this prestigious award, which reflects our commitment to using financial innovation to improve lives—particularly for micro-entrepreneurs and individuals with limited access to traditional credit. We prioritize fast, accessible, secure, and fair lending services to help customers begin their financial journey with quality and sustainability."
MoneyThunder is a Thai-developed mobile loan application powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and alternative data, enabling flexible and precise credit assessments. The platform supports loan approvals ranging from 800 to 1,000,000 baht, with approval times as fast as 2 minutes. So far, the app has disbursed over 24 billion baht in loans while maintaining a non-performing loan (NPL) rate 2–3 times lower than the industry average.
MoneyThunder’s customer insights revealed that over one-third of our customers have previously struggled with informal debt, and 30% have been denied access to bank credit. With our transparent and accessible services, approximately 50% of our customers reported increased income after receiving funding through MoneyThunder. These results highlight the platform’s tangible impact in improving financial well-being and promoting real economic opportunities at the individual level.
The 7 Innovation Awards, organized annually by 7-Eleven in collaboration with ten national partners, recognizes organizations that utilize innovation to advance sustainable business practices and create positive social impact. MoneyThunder’s win underscores the power of Thai-designed innovation to deliver meaningful and lasting change for Thai society.
